Hi MOT, I've made a couple of pairs and hate making them largely because I'm not great at it. My current 'pair' is actually a double pair, a sheepskin liner over a heaver calfskin outer with an extra sole on the outside. They are comfortable enough (for a 'civilised way to go barefoot') and even in winter they are ok particularly if you stick in a wool liner for a bit more warmth.
