Do not, i repeat do not, put fresh bread in the vacuum sealer, i put a lovely fresh loaf of tomato bread, in the vacuum sealer, & it now looks like a naan bread !.
Lol, not a lot i suppose, just that i purchased extra from the market & wanted to drop a couple in the freezer, & have a play with the new vacuum sealer, and that i prefer my bread "fluffy" not flat.
Haha! I had the same thing happen to me. I can only imagine how funny I looked, panic-stricken, as my bread smooshed before my eyes.
Now I put the bread in the bag, freeze until hard, and then vacuum seal the open end. I also do this with any food that has a large liquid component to it.
I wouldn't vacuum seal bread at all, it freezes fine tied in an ordinary plastic bag. The vacuum seal bags cost a fortune and I'm far too mean to waste them.
