Now I have my German ponchos in canvas I now toying with the idea of a wool blanket
I have one and army one which I’ve never used.
Thinking of one poncho in a lean to type setup army bivy bag and wool blanket. As a cold sleeper what are chances :) I did see there are videos on YouTube about it. Apparently you don’t just throw it over you there’s ways to make foot box and all sorts of things

Blanket pins or kilt pins as i call them, cheap enough, make a couple of blankets into a neat sleeping bag. Plus the blankets won't fall off you at night
I lay two blankets covering the bottom one by half the second one. Fold blanket that iso on top over in half, fold underneath blanket over top of the blanket. Fold up bottom and pin through all layers..
Pin through all layers on the side, leaving a section at the top unpinned so you can get in and out. Two layers top and bottom. Room to move unlike a mummy.
I also use a double sheet folded in half and sewn bottom and side inserted in the bag, I put it on the central section before pinning, and you don't have scratchy wool next to your skin. Not realy nessasary, but its more comfortable, and of course easier to wash clean than wool blankets.
