Your No 4 looks very much like Elm to me - I have a couple of dozen blocks of burr elm and they look just like that.

Just out of curiousity, have these blanks got to be heat treated once you've put the grind on them?

Would it be possible for you to grind and heat treat the blades so it becomes a task of handling. I don't fancy tackling trying to grind a blade on my second home made knife
