After making my own woodgas stove a couple of months a go, I purchased a Woodgas Stove LE from Careca in the classifieds section.

The stove is absolutely incredible, and generates a massive amount of heat either on the low or high settings.

I have taken a video of it on the high setting - it is on youtube:

It totally outperforms my own attempts - Mark 1 being totally passive and Mark 2 having a PC case fan in the base blowing air through the combustion tin, although Mark 2 actually performed quite well (but looked very strange).

Does anyone else have any experience of these commercially designed/manufactured units - particularly the XL or the MEGA sized one?

Thanks, Paul

I've had a Spenton XL woodgas stove with solar panel for a couple of years.

The enclosed design makes it easy to light even in the wind and the fan makes it easy to get going quickly.

Unfortunately, it does make my BushBuddy seem like a poor relation in terms of performance. But them their is no comparison in terms of bulk/weight and of course without a battery or solar panel the Spenton is useless as there are no air holes.
