I have posted this in the FM area ...

My school have a small woodland on the edge of Windermere, which I have booked for the last weekend of this month Friday 30th May - Sun 1st June.

School usually take pupils up to camp, but because of staffing issues it has not been used this year. As a result there are 2 pristine porta loos up there and a tap just crying out to b used.

The site can accommodate a few tents and IIRC has plenty of suitable hammocking spots.

I will have to limit the numbers to about 10 because of space, which is why I have listed this in the FM area before I open it up generally.

So.. anyone interested?

Simon

EDIT:-

Should have said, there is no charge for use of the site!

As a few people have pulled out there is room for about another 10 people, so if you are interested please add your name to the list. 1st come first served!

Hi Simon M

I am off next week in the campervan. If I got up to the lakes and me and my son hammocked would there be room for a classic volkswagen for SWMBO and mini SWMBO?

Just a thought as we may end up going south, I wont really know until I look at the weather report etc.

Bodge:)

No problem Bodge - you can even make oatcakes if you want for breakfast! :D

I'll add you and family to the list - don't worry if you can't make it.

Sadly I'm going to have to drop out.
I cracked my rib about three weeks back and it still hurts like a biatch.
So camping out isn't an option.....

Ribs and collar bones are so awkward for healing because you cant strap them up. I feel for you, have done it a few times myself.

hope to meet you on the next one.

...too short notice.

My own fault for staying off the site for so long.

If you have another I'd definitely be interested.

Weather looks promising for this, light rain at times during Friday and Sunday with no rain forecast at all for Saturday. Light breeze all weekend with temp up to about 18C.:D

I aim to be on site by late morning - I have to drop my daughter off at Brownie camp on the way, so can't make it any sooner. See you all there.

Sorry Simon, OT but do you want the fireguard I made for the stove? It'll likely end up on the tip if not. Either way it's no great shakes :)

Back on topic - I'm likely to be stuck in work til 5pm so likely to arrive about 8 - 9pm. Will I be able to get the car up to where we are pitched?

Hi Matt,

Fireguard - Yes please!

Carparking - Depends on where you pitch! Its not a huge wood and you can drive at least half way in. Either way, I'm sure there will be enough people to give you a lift carrying gear!
