I was cutting back some willow yesterday and have been using it to make various items.
Whimmydiddles, whistles, cordage and clothes/tarp clips.
The clothes clip was something of an experiment.
I removed the bark from a piece of willow and then split the willow in half. I cut a small "V" notch into each piece where the pivot will sit. Then lashed the pivot in place with the willow bark.
I cut a wedge from another piece of the willow to force the "teeth" of the clip closed.
Once the wedge is in, it holds the item tightly.
Here I'm using one to hang up my coat, but they can also be used on a tarp.
