How do you know if your river or stream has crayfish in, i dont think ive ever seen an alive one? Do they only live in big rivers?

They are all over the place, the American Red Signal Crayfish is supposedly in the river in Silkstone. Apart from asking anglers, local knowledge, the only other way to find out would be to give it a go. I believe there is a website that shows which rivers they are in but have no idea where that website is or what it is called.
