Don't forget hill loch brown trout are often small - about three to the pound is quite common. You can still eat them though. Permits for brown trout are usually cheap, and often cover several lochs. Some places are fly only. Remote lochs are rarely fished and sometimes permission can be had by ringing the estate office.
