hi everyone, i wasn't sure weather to put this in here as it is diy, or in the bushcraft section, i am building a huge bender tent on a raised platform made from about 75% natural or recycled materials. it is being made to last 5 years or more while i build a proper timber framed house and plant trees, set up veg gardens and keep animals.

i hope in the future to make this land available to people looking to learn new skills and a new way of life. i hope you enjoy. im learning lots to and i don't claim to know what im doing.

Do you have planning permission for the timber-framed house? If not, I recommend starting to seek it now.

i will be applying retrospectively for a woodland workers seasonal working building. and when i come to be building the actual property i will be applying retrospectivly under the low impact devolopment policy in wales. nothing illegal being done here. applying before you start is almost impossible at this time. as the answer is almost always no becuse they don't have a full understanding of the new legislation yet. its much better when you can show them what you have done and what form it will take. and show you are a benefit to the land rather than a person that wants to exploit it.

It's just that I'm reminded of the sad story of the couple who built a lovely eco-friendly house, on his dad's land, loads of local support, yet the council are making them tear it down.

i know them and have seen the house. and i know some people that live in the eco village near to the house you are talking about, lets just say that the house is still there, and the council would have to bulldoze it down with about 20 people inside it. i can't see it coming down any time soon. they know there is to much local support for good people.
