I have an Opinel no.9 which I got on holiday a while ago and think for the money it really is a good knife it sharpens easy and is razor sharp.
I know several places do the range but I want one that I can carry legally everyday which model would people recomend? Also does anyone know anywhere that I can get a sheath for it? I have noticed that you can get them as a presentation pack for the larger knives but none for the smaller ones.

All advise gratefully received!

Not too sure on this but i think the maximum length of the blade on a folding knife has to be 3 inches or less to be carried legally.

I would recomend the opinel number 5 as it doesn't have a locking mechanism. Anything above that in the range does. Not too sure where to get a sheath for one but i am sure a lot of other members can help you further on that front.

Thanks Leon thats more than generous if I can't find anywhere I'll Pm you to sort a price etc!
Although judging by some of your work I would sooner have one of yours than a factory one anyway and but for sounding cheeky I would say I can't find one without even looking! If that makes sense?

Understood! Just one point seems a bit stingy though!

You could only ever give rep, the more rep that you had the more that you gave as each person had varying amounts of rep power.

Someone who was new to the forum and had virtually no rep (10 points) could only ever give a single point, but some of the old hands that had very high rep (200+) when they gave rep it was like a sudden avalanche of rep points hitting your front doorstep as they were giving away 5 or more at a time.

It also had a snowball effect as once one person said they had given rep others normally followed suit. so in many ways it worked out:)
