Which machete / survival tool

I'm after a machete to replace my axe and like the look of the Gerber gator with the saw back, my budget is below £50. Should i get the junior or standard or something else? Whats the reason for replacing an axe?
i have a Martindale machette and been happy with that but rarely gets used anymore.

The lads I go out with cut firewood a lot faster with their machete and khukri

On the 3rd Feb bring your axe, a file and a wet stone or some fine wet and dry we will have a look at it, see if we can do anything, you know the thing I would sugget.

Check out the magnum machete by boker. Heinnie sell them and there is a comparison review on youtube.

They need a little modding but from what I have read and for the price they seem very good.

Probably not up to jungle pro standard but for this country for casual use.....

Consider a Bolo from Condor. It feels like part of your arm and comes with a very reasonable price tag.

personally i would stay clear of the gerber machete with the saw back its an accident waiting to happen only takes a moment of stupidity to put your hand on the back whilst doing a job. Get a saw and a machete or sort your axe out in my opinion combining some tools makes them more impracticable than practicable....
