Well.....I have now pressed the button on a Frost River Timber Cruiser Jr from France (best price,no import tax, availability etc.)

So will post a few photos and my first impressions upon arrival...............watch this space :)

Uk wasn't it Rich ??
Wasn't the Cat a member on here for a while ? 86inch or something?
I rang him up for chats and ended up buying the prototype Bushcraft expedition pack from him.
From what I recall, they could not make any money on the packs cosidering the cost of the quality materials they used.
Ring any bells?
My best.
Chris.

Yeah sorry Chris, my bad. Made in Lincolnshire UK :)

Have to admit these packs look great, but surely they cant be that comfy heavily loaded? they look like the sink half way down your back, there's no real support in the packs themselves(even with a roll matt in them id have thought) and the shoulder straps would be awkward to adjust whilst wearing especially compared to new style packs, is it just a romantic/nostalgic thing? ps dont threaten to kill me for the above heresy, im being genuine about it.

Haha...I'll let you know when it arrives!!

Seems to be pretty diverse reports, some people seem to love them, others not.

I think it's what suits your frame, I've had packs that others find comfortable but really bad for me...horses for courses I guess?

I think there is also the nostalgic thing....I just think they look fantastic..........:)

Agreed with the looks bit,and i also agree with differant stroke's for differant folks bit(i find the issue bergen comfy loaded up heavily others dont) its just the soft canvas with no frame bit loaded up for a long outing and strap adjustment thats my main concern re comfort(when these things came out there was little choice, and blokes tended to be a bit tougher than us modern day sissys way back)hence why i said romantic/nostalgic,but yes again they do look very nice.

Well...pack arrived yesterday (really fast from France and fully tracked)

I love it, bit bigger than I imagined but already had a plan for some compression straps involving some really nice brass 'D' rings.......

Will try to get some pics up over the weekend but off to Thornbury food fair on Saturday and Frampton Country Fair on Sunday :)
