Where to Buy 01 Tool steel

Just wondering where you guys buy your 01 tool steel. I would really like to have a go at making my own knives but cant seem to find any 01 tool steel. Or do you use something else.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Buck & Hickman, I find it easier to search on their site. It is also known as 'ground flat stock' or 'gauge plate'. ebay is another option.

If you are just after a small piece to have a go...

Try your local recycling yard - ours has a tray of old tools that they sell for a quid each - amongst which are often old files - which are of "tool steel" grade - by the time you grind the teeth off them, there is little difference between a £10 piece of flat ground stock and a £1 recycled file.

You can also use old hedge clippers, sickles and scythes etc etc.
