These are great pics guys, but try to keep it to 3 pics please. I know it is difficult, but that is part of the challenge.

Totumpole, your peak identification is correct, although I'm not entirely certain where I was when I took the pic, I think I was to the north of Pen Cerrig Calch, at the top end of the Grwyne Fechan valley.

Just 8 km from where I live. One of many amazing lakes with great cliffs surrounding them.
A tough terrain with quite a lot of wildlife. I've even seen tracks from Lynx here!
This is the sort of nature that I love. :)

In the summer I have something like 20 really good lakes nearby to swim in.

The outdoor never seems far away here (which also is shown on the illuminecent
emergency exit sign on my tent!)

As soon as there's snow I take my skiis, pulk and tent with me and get out.
There's miles and miles of woods, so you really can be alone here...

The sea is nearby, which gives it a very special feel.

In the Baltic sea ship wrecks are preserved thanks to the low
amount of salt in the water and I've dived on many large sunken
ships here. A very exiting thing to do, I promise! :D

Wow, some really stunning photos coming out here, great thread...

my three are all within a 15min drive of home

one of my favourite bits of woodland on the moors, heading up the valley to the right leads to a small but very pretty tor

i love the mix of archaeology to be found, from prehistoric monuments to the massive workings of the industrial revolution.

and then there's the sheer scale of the place, from wooded valleys to open moorland to high tors - what more could you ask for....

A small house, we call it "buron", where I used to walk to spent on or more days, alone, with friends or with my boys. Beetween One hour and a half walk in summer, to six hours in winter with bad snow...

A little cabin log I just began to build, a few days ago. A place where no one had come since... years I think! 5 I will show the work in progress later...)

I'm going to try and revive this thread, as I think there might be more nice pics in the offing.

"Thread rules: You are allowed a maximum of three pictures (taken by yourself) to show why where you live is a great place to be a bushcrafter. Try to keep the locations for the photos fairly local to yourself, rather than using large areas like 'Scotland' or 'The fens'"

I live on the edge of a small town now but regularly head over to where I was brought up twenty miles away. It's a small village surrounded by forest, heather moorland and arable land. I've just had a scan through my Photobucket pages to see if I have any decent pics but they're a bit rubbish.
