whats the strangest thing you have removed from the wilds?

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
Well, the bits of the car were in the woods right next to a layby, not exactly the wilderness. And it had probably been there since the 70's. Growth of the nternet over the last 15 years or so has reduced the amount of abandonded "jazz" mags found in suburban forrests.

Parts of Turbine Blades from a Rolls Royce Avon Jet Engine that was powering... WJ615 an English Electric Canberra that crashed on Carn an t sagairt mor up near Lochnagar...

There still floating around in the Garage IIRC...

A live military rifle round and an issue mug from the hills near Llandovery (not in the military area - just open hillside): fired (and unfired) blank rounds from Carn Alu in the Preseli Hills - where they filmed "Tumbledown" and various bits of military hardwear from the same area including a 58 belt buckle: Blue Glass "poison" bottles from the middle of a wood....

hunting for firewood during a 2 dayer we found this,

we arranged all our gear on it during day one,...hahaha,..

then burnt it to cook breakfast before clearing up and coming home,...

I seem to have a habit of finding mobile phones recently. Most of them in a fully working order. Returned a couple to owners, others have found their way to be recycled.

Hats scarves gloves emergency whistle sunglasses more hats pens, from Dartmoor along with plenty of pop cans.
From Epsom Common, a couple of SAK's lots of small brass figures and a cast aluminium two wheeled small cart frame.
The rest I burnt along with lots of bracken, well I was only 11 at the time.

A very large black bra! It was on one of the cleanups at a local loch. Being held up here buy my daughter who is looking suitably disgusted and refusing to touch it with bare hands.
