My man has his heart set on going to Norway sometime in October, but we've never been there before, and we arent sure what the weather is like , if its already snowing (though I know its a long country with a big variation between north and south ) We havent decided where to go or what we want out of the holiday, but it wont be camping, we'll be staying in accomodation, but I would like to get out into nature whilst we are there. Any recommendations?

And here is our white christmas history (We have had black xmases in 1972, 1992, 2006 AND 2007, so the climate is definitely changing)

Last year as Wayland said the first snow came in early september in Lofoten and in Bodø were I live. It could also come as early as in in august (but it hasn`t this year:) ). But the first snow seldom lies more than a week.
Last winter the snow didn`t come before 9. january (in Bodø that is). Before that we had several snowfalls wich all melted away.
But the country is long and it the weather in the south differs from the weather in the north, and inland weather differs from the coastal weather.

My advise is; find out were you will go first, and then use the link from Susi to see what weather you could expect.

By the way the weather in Bodø is currently 9deg Celsius and mix of cloud and sun.
