What wildlife did you spot today?

Monday afternoon a neighbor told me that I had a wasp nest on my roses outside, so I went out and had a look and yep it was the size of a football and looked like a scene from Aliens orbiting earth.
I was worried as my path ends on a public footpath so I rang a local specialist and he told me it'll cost £65 for removal and the safe re-homing of the nest/hive.
Anyway cut to yesterday morning and he rang me up to check I still needed his service and to go and check that they were still as bad and blow me they had all disappeared into the wind.
I went to ask the same neighbor who told me about it and he said that they all flew off when he took his dog for a walk at 06;30.

Thank you. I just looked that up. striking colors and so is the male and very different x

We have tons of Chaffinches around here but Goldfinches more unusual.

Yesterday I spotted a grass snake in one of my compost bins. Today I spotted two grass snakes in the same bin.

Anyone know how to tell male from female? Both would be about 50cm long so still quite small, anyone know if they would be mature enough to breed?

Spotted an adder today. Always nice to see. Managed to get a photo as it slithered off into the undergrowth. Looked about 50cm.
