What wildlife did you spot today?

  • Hey Guest, Early bird pricing on the Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August) available until March 31st, we'd love you to come. PLEASE CLICK HERE to early bird price and get more information.
I've just seen that, one of my favourite creatures, sort of remind me of work where I used sort out other people's mess.

We get quite a few here and they even sort out the cat mess.
I’m not sure where they all appeared from so quickly, the horse wasn’t long gone by but there were probably 10 or so of them.

currently it's rainy season here, which means our "moat" (==river separating farm from civilization ) is much higher than normal, but yesterday i was lucky enough to see a neotropical otter make it's way upstream without noticing me
you got any pictures? or info please. sounds cool x

sadly no pics (=my only camera these days is my phone and that stays switched off in my cabin unless i head to the "office" (=Wi-Fi spot) in the afternoon...)
i've seen them a few times in different locations (Costa Rica and near lake nicaragua), some folks claim they only exist south of the Darien, but i live north of that -- guess they get mixed up between neotropical and giant otter...
i never saw eurasian otters (lutra lutra) in europe, but up to 3 together in one place in south korea (which is surprising given the amount of pesticides in the water)

I spotted a barn owl hunting. We have three owls in Ireland. Long and short eared and the barn owl. No tawny owls and no moles either. Not to mention snakes thanks to st patrick.

A Queen Bumblebee searching low over the grass for a nest site, checking out some old vole holes in the stream's bank. A pair of noisy Buzzards, a Newt larva and Water Boatmen, garden birds, more mushrooms on tree stumps, and my favourite...newborn lambs in the field!! It's been a gorgeous Spring day here and I've been admiring the Snowdrops, Daffodils and Hellebores lining the lanes.
