Snugpak Sleeper extreme
One off Snugpak softie 12

Wish I was able to keep some of the gems I sold, The Tactical 4 and the softie 3 looked brilliant. So many good features on the Snugpak tactical range. Down bag one day I hope!

Keep an eye on ebay or save search and you will be automatically emailed. I picked up a new (Without stuff sack) ME Xero 350 for £165 last year (RRP £280). Called ME and they sent be stuff/lofting bags free :D

Its just the price and the whole "getting wet" argument. It just annoys me that half my pack contains the softie. Im going to be very poor for the next 3 years (uni starts in a week) But one day !

Cheers for the info though

The wife and I have coleman bambusa's which are only good indoors or when its really hot, last winter I bought a US modular sleep system, big and heavy but it is rated down to -50 so should do the job

Just 2 bags here

- Wolfcamper 3 seasons, rated up to -5 or so
- a carinthia i bought recently (2 seasons)

The plan is the carinthia can go around the wolfcamper to create a 4 seasons bag, but this has yet to be tried out under serious temperatures

Re igniting an old thread, and why not?:)

1977 Blacks of Greenock Highland (Hollofil, and still in use), originally their 4 season bag and 1st synthetic? V. expensive in the day, and it shows.
2x Czech Army Bag/Bedrolls. Best £10 ever....
British Army 90/95? cold weather bag, liner, and 2 goretex bivvis. Very warm..........

...needless to say, compactness and lightweight have not been prime considerations with the surplus bags! But wonderful value!

For wild camping I'm using the Snugpak Jungle bag in summer and the UK army/Fesca Medium weight bag with polycotton liner in the Winter. I have to say the new army 'medium' bag is probably the best military bag I've ever used. So warm. The only downside is the bulk and weight, and the liner is a bit of a faff. I managed to get the Medium bag (large), liner and MTP MVP bivibag new as part of a deal on ebay for £70.
I can boost the Jungle bag using either a US poncho liner or a fleece throw that we have.
When I'm hammocking the Snugpak underblanket does the trick with the sleeping bag appropriate to the temps.

For family camping I have a pair of Vango Nitestar 250's - the left hand and right hand zip style, so me and the missus can keep each other warm, so to speak.

I still have a Snugpak Discovery bag from the 90's that I bought to take to the alps. Was a great sleeping bag, just a shame it was a pinky red colour.

I've bought the boy a 'medium' bag too for when he gets his **** into Winter camping. He has a Vango Lunar 250 for the time being.

Will probably get the boy the army Lightweight bag next year if he shows an interest in coming along with me when I go hammocking.
