What Can She Do?

I have a friend who has just had an ankle operation. This means that she has only one usefully functioning leg at the moment. We're trying to work out some (reasonably/slightly) active outdoor stuff to do that doesn't require more than the very intermittent use of the dodgy leg. Canoeing is about the only thing we can think of that doesn't seem to put any undue work or stress on her ankle.

Any ideas of other outdoor stuff we could do while the ankle mends? (Which is over some weeks!)

It's a good time of year to just sit outside and work at stuff.
Cordage, basketry, even prep work on fungi for amadou.

It's not as active as she'd like, but it's still outside and busily engaged :D
Put up a tarp, light a wee bbq stove thing nearby, put the kettle on it,

Crocked ankles are a pain to heal well :sigh: wish her the best of luck with it.

As Toddy says above, and you can put the time to very good use with stuff like sharpening skills, carving practice (try sticks?)
and get up to speed on all the stationary skills and crafts that most of us don't get enough down-time for.

Think back to how many times you've thought to yourself "I wish I had the spare time to.......................... :)
