Well if Pelagic species of whales and dolphins keep swimming up the River Clyde there could be a glut of it!!

Fantastic animal to watch but so sad to see it so far out of its habitat

i wondered why everybody was looking over into the clyde as well as the police the other night when i was working,i actually thought it was a person.

Nope, for a change it was a Northern Bottle Nose Whale

As a souvenir of South Georgia, I've got a side off a cardboard box that says: "Husvik Whale Meat, South Georgia". I found it, among thousands of others, perfectly preserved in a warehouse there. I think that they canned it and sent it to Europe.

It turns out that they froze it and sent it to Japan. I found this pic on tinterweb of the warehouse:

and I also found out that access to the buildings on the whaling stations was stopped in the mid 90s due to delapidation and asbestos. Looks like I got there just in time.
