Waterproof Trouser Recomendation ?

Can anyone recommend some waterproof pants (not over-pants). I want them for both hiking and bushcraft so a "cottony" material (ventile, gortex) would be better.

Are the "army surplus" gore-tex trousers waterproof, and how do you think they would be for Hill Walking (maybe too heavy).

I may end up getting "use specific" trousers; £60-100 hiking trousers (maybe paramo or ventile, and then army surplus pants for dirty bushcraft stuff (if waterproof).

I have the issue goretex pants and they do the job just fine. They`re not the lightest of materials but they rollup to next to nothing.
