One of the annoying things with nalgenes is that if empty, and you put it down with the cap off and waving about, is that it can have enough momentum to topple the bottle.


Any one use Hunersdorff bottles?

Like the idea of an oval 500ml.

Jared have you tried putting the lid ring on backwards?
That way, on some models, the lids hang down the side better.

Ah, no. Been using a 500ml daily for years and never occurred to me. Thanks.

Umm, didn't know I had a problem until this thread made me think about what I had !
Not as much as some here but still quite a lot. What I use depends upon the trip/event/duration. Getting the water and making it drinkable occupys my mind and kit list quite a bit. Making a nylon Milton bag is on my to do list.

Never ever put a bottle down unless the cap is on unless you have a table at your disposal..

Wasn't talking about being outdoors.
I meant putting it down on the kitchen top, usually to pour something in from a larger bottle.
