i roll the inflating one into tube but i'd rather just bung one on outside plus it can be used as a sit mat without bivi bag too

Lol, I've been chucking one in the canoe lately but always for get it's there until I go home again.

another reason i want to be able to bung it on the outside is ease of access without swearing/emptying entire pack when i want it.
it will have to wait til after payday but might well investigate it.

and how much do you normally pay for the above?
th reason i ask is i have a self inflating matt but am not getting on with it at present and am looking at alternatives

i've toyed with getting one they look very effective.

They are just ordinary ones, Karrimat or similar.
I'd go for a Ridgerest if I was you, very light and comfy. I use one chopped up for a camping dog bed and I get no complaints from them!

money is a bit tight at minute with young un on way hence the desire to swap or i would of bought a ridgerest by now
