Managed to save some really nice bits of Walnut from going in the wood chipper. I have split some it looks like this.

The two long staves come in at 135cm and the two small ones off to the left at 75cm. The two small ones I am hoping to splice, was wondering if any of the Bowyers out there have any experience with hand saws used for cutting z-splices? I am looking at Japanese Hassunme crosscut saw. Your help is greatly appreciated Im thinking that at 135cm the bow I'll try for will be wide in the limb and may be backed with sinew. Having never done a splice I thought the two 75cm billets would make a good practice.
Right now I have on the go a 170cm Hazel replica of the bow i saw at the Neanderthal museum.
