My Rangerover has just been cured of its bronchitis after several attempts
Turned out to be a hole in one of the carb diaphrams.
This is totally irrelevant to bushcraft, but is nevertheless very big news for me ): ):
dont we have a 'skipping in sunshine' smilie?

That would do it ... were they SU carbs? If so, did you check the damper bores and pistons for wear?

yea SU carbs,Got a V8 specialist to sort it as I gave up after plugs points and fuel filters and the D***head local landrover 'specialist' couldn't identify the problem.

Will this one do ? :hyper:
Is your range rover a cyclops ? or just parked in a tree

On the subject of twin SUs, what causes a blowing back through the carbs, kinda backfire type thingy ?
Sticking valve (friend suggested) or just Timing out ? - does run on a bit

Cheers
Rich

Also sounds like a perforated carb diaphram! sounds very similar symptoms to my beast. It worked fine when cold but 'almost' backfired when you increased the strain on the engine. The air-con gave it a huge coughing/backfiring attack.

Thats probably a good idea :biggthump
Mine cughs a bit , then as you put the power in does the popping backfiring through the carb bit till you back off. Sounds very simular ?
gonna bung another lump in anyway as this one spews oil badly.

Cheers
