As part of my losing the plot as I get older I am picking up this frame next month.
It’s a tracker made by camp trails in phoenix
I like using old gear and prefer it over the shiny new stuff. So my question is I can obviously tie things to the frame. But what do I need to search for bag wise that attaches to it to give me a container as it were.

Ooh, I would love to have that one. Such a wide load shelf. I would attach some sort of basket and use it grocery shopping.

If you look on a well known on-line auction site you might find a bag......

What make is it? Karrimor and Berghaus frames are both good, but you may want to do some belt mods, it's quite easy to add a decent lap belt.

Also..... what part of Wales are you in? I have bag that would probably fit as I have two or three old frame rucksacks (Karrimor) and I want to turn one into a backpack basket at some point.

How fussy in bag type/colour are you?

Hi Grey not fussy at all. I am in Carmarthenshire. The pack is coming from England next month. Looking forward to it. Again 56 years old and I get excited about a backpack frame

@captainhastings : I am also in Carmarthenshire, so once you have the frame, if you want to talk about an original bag for it, drop me a pm. If there's one I have spare that works, you are welcome to it. The frame looks like a Berghaus one (rather than Karrimor), my spare bags are Karrimor but the Karrimor bags will go on the Berghaus frame.

Also I did a belt for a similar frame for @Woody girl last year, so I have some pics showing how a padded self-made belt can be attached securely to an old pack frame.

I do like the old external frames, I still think they are more comfortable than the modern equivalents!

Just slightly off topic, bought similar pack, £3 from charity shop, took the pack off the frame and added two forty litre dry bags for canoe camping. Excellent for portaging, the only weight is your stuff, so many new sacks are heavy before you start, my rush 72, is 3.5 kilos before you’ve packed anything!
