They are fun. They are a bit tricky to get going as they rely on heat to create pressure rather than initial pressurisation. A really good prime is needed. I couldn't get on with mine and ended up getting an Optimus mini-pump for pump-priming, which made all the difference
Put your pot on as soon as you light the prime. The bottom may get a bit sooty, particularly if you use the stoves main fuel to prime, but it reflects a lot of priming heat down onto the tank which would otherwise be wasted.
