After having seen some work Trev did on another forum members axe, I thought I'd get in touch and offer a trade on a nice nessmuk knife for some work on my first bush craft pack axe, something just to make it a little bit special.

Pics are below all jazzed up with some Viking/Norse style dragon heads and some very nice work on the spine of the axe.

I'm really pleased with the work Trev's done for me, he's made something that I'll keep for a long time and definitely end up replacing the wooden shaft when it gets tired or broken.

The work is excellently done and very fine, you can really tell hes put a lot of effort and patience in to putting the image on the axe head. Brilliant job!!

I had sent him one pic off the net of the kind of thing I was looking for, and said just go for it!

My next step is to buy a nice leather axe holster or metal loop for it to slide in to for my maxpedition ruck sack and put a decent edge on it.

Enjoy the pics :0) and thanks again Trev.

Real nice detail.

I wasn't too impressed with the sharpness of the edge and first tried a lamely stone to touch it up..... I got bored of that real quick, sold it on then Bought a work sharp sharpener. The axe is MUCH sharper now with a fresh convex edge and the Condor Nessmuk knife shaves hair off my arms. All in all I was very pleased with the work sharp sharpener especially as to get the Nessmuk shaving sharp took literally ten minutes!

I like the Nessmuk combo that much I bought the same knife I traded with Trev for the work doing.

The finish on the Nessmuk wasn't great so I sanded the scales down with some very fine sand paper and re-oiled with natural Danish oil, as you can probably see it could so with another oiling it just drank it up the first time!

Thanks again Trev :0)

Mate in order to do that axe justice you'll have to...grow a long beard, wear a helmet with horns on, and invade shorelines waving the axe around pillaging and stealing maidens as you go. :lmao:

that is gorgeous! Trevs work is stunning there's no two ways about it. All you need now is full mask for it with the axes name on it in runes!

I don't know if you took the picture or not but a quick search on Tineye shows at least 6 other websites using the exact same image ....

Taken from Waylandscape, Gary's Fine Art website on the subject of copyright

The case is very easy to prove, I have the original images and they do not. Each image is also digitally encoded to help me track their use anywhere on the internet.

Nice bit of work.

Nice picture from my web site as well...

I'd rather you linked it rather than posting it on Photobucket though.

Viking do rock though, I'm from York originally as well so quite fitting lol

But hindsight is a wonderful thing.

In this case the image was used to illustrate a style then posted on here as a comparison. I can understand why seeking the source of the image and its creator may not have been deemed necessary?

The Op isnt claiming the image for himself and possibly obtained it from a quick google search. Saved the image to compare with several similar ones. Then emailed it on to Trev. When the op came to post the thread naturally it was probably easier to post a saved version then try and track it down again. Harmless too I would've thought?

And copyright may well be mentioned on waylands site.....but is it mentioned on the ones who stored the image? At least wayland has merely stated, he'd rather it be linked than stored and has not gone on one about it.
