Looking for an old fire hose (the type used on fire engines) that has been retired from service.
Got a few ideas for some nifty crafty projects I'd like one for (just the hose, don't need the connectors or nozzles).

Can offer cash or may have something of interest to trade

Everything now days is returned to a central point to be disposed of. Try Witham specialist vehicles(google them) they have a contract for disposal of gov't equipment.
I was down there a couple of years ago, searching the vehicles & they estimated that they had over 5 miles of hose !.

EBay has plenty but again either very expensive or collection only from the middle of nowhere. Might give the local station a try but don't think it's likely. As to what I want to make, well you'll just have to wait and see but I think they could be used for lots of things if you but it down one edge to make a big sheet of material

I have one sat in the shed form when I was going to join. I think it's still in good condition but would need to check. It's in East Yorkshire though and I'm sure postage would be costly but it's yours for free otherwise.

Just let me know.

It doesn't have to be in good condition, gives it some character, just as long as its not falling to bits. I'll take as much as is on offer, up to one full hose.
An example of one thing I want to make out of it is a belt, if that gives a better idea of the condition I'm looking for.

Jackdaw, if you do have one any chance you could estimate the postage (I don't need the metal ends so that should save a bit!). Something like hermes should probably be the cheapest.
