Ventile questions

I'm almost at the point of ordering a SASS smock and have a couple of questions about the material.

1.What weight of ventile do they use? Is it L24 or one of the heavier versions.
If it's L24 is it heavy enough?
2.How does the fabric actually compare to gaberdine? That is, not in performance, but in appearance and feel?

I've already trawled the many threads regarding these jackets so apologies if these questions have already asked.

I cant answer which type of Ventile it is but I have one. It has proved a fantastic garment - far more waterproof than Gaberdine but in feel like heavy cotton. You really wouldn't know it was "waterproof" - its quiet, comfortable and very cool - not at all sweaty. Its a great garment and heartily endorsed by me

Having had one made in gaberdine as well by SASS before, I can say the ventile one I have is heavier, slightly, and darker green. And much better too...
