so, after MUCH deliberation i bought a Spyderco Urban.

turned up today from HH. finish was great nice back spring but there was quite a bit of flex from side to side, more than i remember on the ukpk i returned this week.

i appreciate and understand it is not a fixed blade in anyway but is the is play normal?

is this knife worth the extra over a Byrd for an every day user?

thanks in advance for your thoughts

I have the BB Urban and there's no play whatsoever. In fact I've never had play in a Spydie. Maybe send it back for a swap ?

I've never had any play on a new spydie. After some pretty rough treatment they sometimes have a tiny bit. There are a few fakes of the urban about but its highly unlikely bordering on impossible you got a clone from HH

Just sounds like it needs tightening rather than an issue with that particular model. I had 300 Urbans pass through my hands and no one has raised an issue of blade play on any of them.
