Hi guys I've been looking at getting a UK hammocks woodsman x single layer hammock. The site states that the maximum weight is 90kg, I weigh 90kg but my sleeping bag and underblanket will take me over by approx 2.3kg. I'm thinking I'll be ok what do you guys think. I really don't want to get the double layer as its 300g heavier.

They had to draw the line somewhere right? It is probably good for 150 but the lawyers and science lab figured 90 would result in fewer incidents of financial compensation to users.

I just have a single layer parachute fabric hammock from a group buy on Song of the Paddle and it is rated for 300lbs and sleeps 2 uncomfortably.

Give Mat a call or drop him an e:mail. You really can't beat the service from UK Hammocks! My own opinion is that you'd be ok, but then it's natural to keep adding more stuff etc, as a previous post said you need to draw a line somewhere!

One thing to bear in mind is that if you are over that weight limit, the manufacturer is more likely to say sorry its not designed to carry the weight, it broken so it not a fault of the part....

A manufacturer has to take a stance some were, but at the end of the day its your choice, as every one has said give them a call, and if they say somethign else then ask for them to comfrim it with an email....
