Two plants to identify from acidic soil

I found these next to a slate track within coniferous woodland.

Not the greatest photos in the world but can anyone identify them?

I still haven't had any luck in finding out what they are, anyone any wiser?

i might be entirely off with my guess-- it has been years since i saw one as they are not very common in my neck of the woods.... -- , but the blue flowers look like centaurea cyanus to me....

I thought the same but was not sure of the leaves? in common tongue, as I can never remember the Latin names is cornflower

common names can vary from area to area which is why i used the latin one. i had to google it to be honest but once upon a time long gone i had to learn the scientific names of plants and old habits die hard.....
