Hi all,
I would like to show two measuring scoops that i have recently finished. The first one is carved from an ash root burr, that i harvested from exposed roots, on an erroded river bank. When i looked more closely at the cut burr, i noticed that it was quiet soft and starting to decay in the middle. You can see the result of this, by the darker area in the handle. I have sanded this scoop down to 600 grit and finished it with one coat of alkanet root oil stain. It has also been given about eight coats of walnut gunstock oil.(I must start useing a food grade oil then i can start useing my spoons etc).
Thanks for taking the time to look .All comments wellcome.
Regards Chris.
