Thought I'd have a go at something inspired by Jim Sannerud. Not a great picture, but I'm happy with how the box turned out.

That is very cool! Is it a shrink-pot style, or is the pot from one piece? If so, how does it not split?

(and is it just me, or does the handle in this picture mess with your eyes a little?)

Thanks for the remarks folks. The handle does look a bit strange. I think that it's the combination of the grain and the ridges. It's a bit of a mix of woods. The body is birch, turned and hollowed in the end grain. I let it dry very slowly in a box of shavings to prevent it from splitting. The lid is cherry and the handle is Laburnum.
