Tips on cold camping ..

Also should I use my hammock or tent?

Going on a one day camp this weekend and am very excited. As you know it's getting chilli especially in mornings! Any extra tips to stay warm bar the obvious wearing layers, fire etc

I'm thinking ill use my hammock although only used it once.

Any tips be greatly appreciated thanks

Hammock camping even in the summer months can become cold in the early hours, I found that a base of reindeer hide and two wool blankets were enough to keep me snug even in the depths of winter.
But I would go one/two man tent,roll mat and good 3 season bag its much easier to retain heat in an enclosed space than in a hammock and tarp.

I'd say tent, mainly because I've never had a happy time in hammock..
