Has anyone tried making a throwing axe? We have cut down and re-shaped a number of very cheap second hand hatchets (with hack saws and files), removed original handle and added a longer straight handle (hand crafted from seasoned ash). The results have been very promising and proved to be great fun, when thrown at a specially made target.
