Thick wool anklet socks? DO they exist?

I currently wear 1000 mile ankle height socks however even though I got them in the correct size, they are stupidly short and allow my achillies heel to rub on my salomon shoes when walking uphill.

Does anyone know a good ankle height sock that isn't stupidly short and is also thick wool?

PERFECT! I see why my searches were proving fruitless, because I had no idea there existed a "1/4 sock"... I was searching for the term ankle/anklet socks. Thanks, and do you know where you can get these in the UK?

Been searching furiously over the past few days and there is absolutely nothing available in the realm of a thick wool short sock, however like so often there is something perfect over the pond and it seems the Darn Tough 1905 is it. These are not sold in the UK AFAIK so I'm looking to ship a few pairs over.
