That looks like a blanco'ed rifle sling to me - straight and tight for ceremonial duties.

Not rifles per se but muskets. That said, the technology changed over the course of the Crimean war from smoothbore to rifled muskets (then eventually proper cartridge loading rifles). Those are probably Enfield rifled muskets of which there were several patterns. Great pics!

I have tried to find some similar pictures of the Russian combatants, not so many to be had, however I did come across this gallery containing many photographs by Roger Fenton, taken in the Crimea.
