The swmbo seams to think I have a holding problem.

I must say after finding this lot I can see where she is coming from. I think I can pull my counter argument (you can never have enough). I will however need the support of you guys.

1x Kelly kettle
2x Coleman 442 feather lite multi fuel burners
1x Honey stove stainless with trangia burner
1x Vargo titanium stove with trangia burner
1x Primus ETA Power
1x home made penny burner and windshield
4x six inch nails, 1x trangia burner and gauze (old squaddie burner) many old squaddies with horrible burn scars will testify that they worked but the nails remain red hot for ages afterwards
1x Tangia burner as a spare.
Oh I forgot my 1x Biolite

So please, I beg you post a list of the cookers (pics always good) or burners you have. To help a fellow "bush crafter" out. I have a pic but I am unable to post it.

Thanks in advance Buck

Ghille kettle (the big one)
Kelly kettle (ultra fast 800ml one) with the hobo stove bit
Woodgas stove
Fancee Feest x 2
BRS 3000T gas stove
Karrimor gas stove
Trangia 27 (I think, not seen it for a while)
Optimus 111
Optimus 8R
Coleman Peak 1 (my favorite at the moment)
Primus Omnifuel
Old Camping Gaz International windshield case, can't find the gas canisters for this one any more though.

Then I'm thinking about getting a coleman double or triple burner and a Svea 123 then maybe a few nice brass ones..

I'll post some in use photos at the weekend.

Kelly kettle - alu trekker + hobo stove
Woodgas stove
2x bleut style gas stoves
Trangia (because ... well... because)
Tripod + grilliput heat bowl
Grilliput portable grill (seemed like a good idea at the time....)
Some plastic suitcase based thing that takes butane canisters and takes forever to cook anything
Portable mini-BBQ (after the last one melted)

And toying with the idea of getting another one - Crusader cup based.

As I tell Mrs. H - its about having the right tool for the specific application...... [cue rolling eyes]

Erm... that's it.

I've taken a foldout barbeque a couple of times... but its heavy and cumbersome.

Does a giant Zippo count as a cooker?

  • Wildstoves woodgas stove
  • BSR-8 Multi fuel
  • Vango folding leg gas burner*
  • Trangia burner
  • Coke can burners x2
  • Esbit folding hexamine stove; now down to only two
  • Nido can hobo stove; only one stove but three empty tins on the 'might be useful shelf'
  • Swiss gel stove;
  • Chilli-chocolate tin pocket stove kit
  • Poor mans Grilliput / veg steamer stove

*The vango burner doesn't actually go out on trips but lives in the kitchen so I can practice/experiment with meals at home. SWMBO actually approves of this as we only have a feeble electric hob and I can knock up pancakes or a stir fry in minutes on the gas.

Hi Buck,
I'm not going to list all my stoves for two reasons, first even I get a bit embarrassed when I start going through all the ones I have. Secondly, when I tried to do this with rucksacks I thought I'd listed them all and then kept remembering others!!
So, I'd like to reassure your good lady that you have shown considerable restraint .

Im lucky, I have a very indulgent wife but even I can no longer get away with 'this one does something different' excuse when she asks 'why do you need another stove?'
I think my stove list is definitely now closed - though a few weeks ago I did persuade her to let me have a vintage Mongolian hotpot which I thought would be good for cooking out in the garden/static camp. However, I did get it for only £7 on the car boot! It was in good condition so I convinced her it was a bargain which I think it really was.
