The big one!!

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
Sorry I missed it guys and girls, work came up at the last minute. Happy birthday Ivan and Andy, maybe i'll see you al next time.

I think this weekend was very good except the weather was bring a few of us down at points. But, other than the bitter coldness it was a very good weekend. It was a shame Andy Bruce couldn't make it as 1. it was his woods and 2. it was his birthday too. But, it was fun nonetheless. We didn't get to greet icky sticky as he was off in china and we all had a reunion with the funny things that was said at the last meet :) but nothing new was made :(

Only for the hardy this one
It started wet and when its stopped raining then the bitter East wind set in
Usual campfire antics
Thanks to Skate for the exceptional Hobo hand line I was fondling it all the way home and my Mrs was very impressed!!
Thanks to Rich for the very kind gift of the knock off Chinese wood gas stove and a variety of parachute recycled items
More kit to please the Mrs
Thanks to Big Al for being the chef

Talia and I are back home safe and sound, I put my order in with the kitchen before I left Bovey and a roast dinner was waiting for us on arrival!
Another great weekend to celebrate Ivan's second 50th, already looking forward to his 3rd. Great times around the campfire with great people, I'm really looking forward to seeing some of the photos.

What a great weekend, albeit bloomin cold but the camaraderie and the food and fire saw off the chills. it was great to catch up with everyone and meet some new people. taken me 2 days to thaw out but well worth it. roll on May.

quote of the weekend, well one of them " its gonna be a 2 man Job "

Ditto all the above.
I still have yet to empty the car (toilet should be smelling a bit by now) and my house looks and smells as If 40 people had a campover at mine, but as the wife and kids are away for 2 weeks I may just get away with it.

A great time with old friends (and some new) and I'm looking forward to the next one already!

Thanks to all and a special thanks to Mr.Webster for the loan of the cacacacooooooooooon. I promise not to break wind in it Paul!

Pics will follow.

I reckon Ivan has no internet access

As you invented the interwebster Paul can you sort it out as I believe there are pics available

The community always like to see proper bushcrafters at it This is not the time for secrecy
I still love my hobo hand-line and I think there are pics

Even with pics from our weekend venture the community will still be left wanting then... I'm dissapointed there's no pics yet, there must have been about £10k worth of photography equipment floating about

I only managed a few, being slightly pre-occupied on the grub front.

Keeley said despite it being very cold, she had a fantastic time (her words). The man with the squirrel down his pants was funny, the man with the beard made great mushrooms,
why was the man with the shiny blankets slurring his words and talia was lovely. It was great to celebrate the 'big one' with like minded folk, laugh, sometimes cry (laughing) and
generally have a fantastic time. Personal thanks to Paul and Rich for the Webers. Until the next time, whenever that may be, live well :)
