Does anyone know a tent repair company in the south east of england who could put a new door zip on a tentipi (previously Moskoselkatan) tipi?

the only company I've found is Scottish Mountain Gear, who are obviously in Scotland.

It would cost a small fortune for tentipi to do it, so forget that option.

thanks

p.s. which part of the site can I advertise ?

There's a place in St Ives near Huntingdon that repair tents and the like. I used them to repair a frame tent about 8/9 years ago and they did a good job.
I believe this is them - http://www.srobb.co.uk/.
Not too far from North London

This topic reminds me of the time we visited Cornwall about 15/16yrs ago, on arrival we found our tent (big one with a kitchen) door zip was broken, we drove into Newquay and found a zip (£23 :() took my missus four hours to do a brilliant job, she hates tents. :)

Hi, Is the material canvas ? (I have not seen a tentipi in the flesh) Is the zip plastic or metal ? and is the zip a coil zip or has it got teeth? How long?
I may be able to do this for you ,I am in mid Kent if that is any help.

Hi birchwood,

It's a canvass-nylon hybrid - feels like canvass but strengthened with nylon to make it lighter than standard canvass. The zip is about 3m long and it's got teeth. Scottish Mountain Gear recommended replacing it with a coil zip as they are stronger (what do you think?).
