There is a old Soviet union version, a lad i used to work with had one, it was the heaviest jacket ive ever come across.

Well, my 1950's Dutch army wool greatcoat is actually heavier.... by about 100 grams.

From personal limited experience with the Soviet one (two hours outside at -30C) it works very well, but it is quite heavy. It was made for soldiers standing guard duty in cold climates of Soviet Union, so you can safely say it can handle a night out in British winter
