Ex Leeds, now Killala
I have added a zip to mine, and as it's an earlier version, a waist cord.

I still have the buttons to change, add a hood volumer and then I'm dying it a light grey. I haven't decided if I should add poachers pockets in the back yet.

The cuffs are tight, true. But I wonder if there's a purpose to that? As it to make them slip into mittens easier?
But that would snow the fall into the mittens, too.
I'm still thinking about that, but my idea is to make the cuffs wider, so they will go over a glove or mitte instead of in.
I'll leaves the epaulettes in place, since they are of no concern, even with a heavy backpack.

Neatly done Badger.

Was that one of the button up versions rather than a head over one?

Also, did you add some velcro in front of and behind the zip?

Had an hour on the smock this morning ,

Cuffs removed and cotton webbing stiched on to give the cuff a bit more protection this will be covered with braid on the smock at a later date :),

Looks good mate, are you planning on giving it a degree of waterproofness?
how are these when worn are they a loose overcoat type or quite fitted with the waist cord, keep up the good work, cheers

The red really does look good.

I don't think they really need any waterproofing. The fabric is quit tightly woven, so i am hoping it will shed water, when used in the rain.
My better half also has a snowsmock anoraktype, but she wants to dye it with stuff rom our garden, too. So we'll have to wait a bit.

THat's looking really good. The red dye is spectacular - unusual for it to take so well. Guess following instructions really helps!

I think I've got a British Army equivalent tucked away somewhere - any thoughts on that one?
