Oh, and just to clarify, shall I try and get it with the hide on if poss? Spot of deers skinning might be good, I've only done it a couple of times. Robin a hogget is a young adult sheep, not quite mutton yet.
I'll have a word with one of the small holders i do some work for now and again to see if he has a Hogget available, wont be seeing him for a couple of weeks though, he is pretty handy with Deer as well, he has offered me some in the past when ive camped out on his land, offered me some Venison, so i said i'll have shoulder, his reply "you will have the whole thing as ive got to go and shoot it for you"

Removing the skin is easy, ending up with something usable is another matter! Anyone fancy teaching a tanning tutorial?
The skin will come off the animal a lot easier if it has been hung for a few days. If you skin them straight away you have to be very careful. If you want to brain tan it, ask them to leave the head on. If they want to check the lymph nodes in the head ask them to keep it with the carcass.

Cheers mate. The problem with our wood is it is very narrow and flanked by livestock on all sides. So think it isnt the best place to shoot. Also I get enough visits fom the police up there when I camp with people reporting me as a terrorist. I think having a gun too would push the neighbourhood watch potty.
