Suitable magnifying glass for fire starting?

X2 on using as dark a tinder as you can find..
Charred wood/charcoal bits from a campfire works well or the standard char cloth once glowing red I like to use dry grass to get a flame going...

Even Scottish sun can start a fire with the above (!?!)
 
I'm just in the process of sending back the jeweller's loupe I bought - I also can't get it to light cotton wool on a day like this ridiculous heat we've been having recently. I started a good many with bigger lenses as a boy, so thanks for this thread.
