suggestions about survival items

hello guys, just want to ask some suggestions about travel gear. I want to know the basic kits that you often bring when you travel? thanks...

Credit card
Phone
book/kindle
Insect repellent
water free soap
Everything else you can buy. If I am going off the beaten track then I add a small multitool and first aid kit as I dont always know the local laws on carrying sharps and prefer not to get locked up
