Turned out it was a blockage under the bridge about 500m arcos the meadow from here causing the river to back up to the top

Thanks for a great weekend guys, thoroughly enjoyed it, Thanks for the map reading skill share, brilliantly presented, I learnt a lot without realising it Just goes to show conditions do not matter when your in great company.

Glad I've finally finished my spoon........

That was me, it didn't go too well, I accidently ripped my tarp a little when I tensioned it from the pole. I can stitch it up no problem, bit annoying though. It was not quite right, I had some flappy bits which I couldn't get taught, however it kept me nice and snug out of the wind and rain so not all bad, was thinking I might go back to an a frame closed one end next time as I'm a bit porky (cos I eat a lot of chips) and it was a bit of a struggle to get in and out. Although it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have a mud bog at the entrance I suppose.
